Tennessee Travelers: Hole-in-One

Experience one of golf’s greatest events—the Ryder Cup—and discover Paris all in the same week.

The Ryder Cup Golf Tournament

For the first time in its history, the 2018 Ryder Cup will illuminate the City of Lights at Le Golf National in France Sept. 28-30. Experience history and tour Paris while traveling with the UT Alumni Association. The Tennessee Travelers program is partnering with PrimeSport to deliver a five- or seven-night bucket list-worthy experience. Besides second-to-none hospitality and tickets to the Ryder Cup, the package includes a tour of Paris and the option to tour either Normandy or Champagne.

No matter where you want to venture, Tennessee Travelers makes the planning easy with exclusive savings and benefits. The Ryder Cup travel experience promises to be one of a kind in the company of alumni, friends and tour hosts, as Rebecca Moss (Knoxville ’61, HSC ’66) discovered during a trip to Great Britain.

“Traveling to England in the company of kindred Tennessee spirits with a thoughtfully planned itinerary and accommodations was just my cup of tea,” Moss says. “There were four of us carrying the banner for Tennessee, and our common roots made for quick and easy familiarity and friendships, especially since we all spoke the same brand of ‘southern.’”

Their travels in Great Britain included the Cotswolds, Highclere Castle of Downton Abbey fame and the birthplace of Winston Churchill.

“These were only a few of the high spots of my maiden voyage into group travel filled with camaraderie of shared experiences, meals and conversations with new friends. The bar has been set very high, indeed,” Moss says.

The UT Alumni Association’s Tennessee Travelers program made the magic of England come to life for Rebecca Moss (Knoxville ’61, HSC ’66), far right, Anne Rittenberry, Mary Stengel and Jane Womack.

Join the Tennessee Travelers on excursions exploring the natural beauty and rich history of Cape Cod, the unique personality of Northern Europe with a sail across the Baltic Sea, or the Old World along the Mediterranean Sea.
