College Values Online ranked UT Martin’s online RN-BSN nursing bridge program in the top 10 “best values” nationally. The program is designed to help nurses who hold two-year RN degrees advance to bachelor’s degrees through completion of online coursework.

Mark Simmons Named Associate Conductor

Mark Simmons

UT Martin associate professor of music Mark Simmons has been named associate conductor of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra in Jackson, Tennessee. Simmons has taught at UT Martin since 2004 and manages all aspects of the university’s choral program.

Business Program Retains Accreditation

Students participate in “Meet the Firms Day” hosted by the College of Business and Global Affairs to help them network with professionals and practice interview and interpersonal skills.

UT Martin has renewed its accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.

Tom Blanchard

State to Fund River Study

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation has awarded UT Martin biology professor Tom Blanchard a three-year research grant through the West Tennessee River Basin Authority. Blanchard plans to study how the restoration of previously channelized streams in West Tennessee affects the physical characteristics of the associated ecosystems.

Jason Stout is Featured Artist, Best in Show

Jason Stout

UT Martin associate professor of art Jason Stout has been named featured artist for the Art of the South 2016 exhibition, which has displays in Nashville and Memphis. Stout’s work, titled “Ignition,” also was named best in show.
