Westminster College reports that James Perkins, professor of English emerita, published four books over the past year. Perkins earned his doctorate at UT Knoxville. His books include: Decembers: Poems, a collection of poems written over a 40-year span, usually one a year as an insert in his wife’s hand-written Christmas cards; Selected Letters of Robert Penn Warren: Toward Sunset, at a Great Height, 1980-1989, the sixth and final volume of the series; Interviews with David Madden, a collection of interviews spanning 46 years in the career of David Madden, a novelist, dramatist, short fiction writer, critic and poet; and The Last Bizarre Tale: Stories by David Madden, published in August by The University of Tennessee Press.  (In the photo, Dr. Perkins is standing in the middle.)

John M. Coyne, III, (Knoxville ’90) a partner in the Akron office of Roetzel & Andress, has been named a 2015 Ohio Super Lawyer in the field of Real Estate.

From Worldwide Registry: R. Eddie Wayland, partner of King & Ballow in Nashville, has again been nationally recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in employment law and litigation. Wayland is a UT Knoxville alumnus. “Mr. Wayland has successfully argued before the United States Supreme Court and before numerous federal and state courts of appeals. He has litigated hundreds of cases to conclusion before judges, juries, arbitrators and administrative agencies in 35 states throughout the country.  Roughly 70 percent of Mr. Wayland’s cases involve employment law, and he concentrates his national practice in the representation of management in all areas of labor and employment law and related litigation,” according to a press release.
