If you’ve ever been impatient waiting for a restaurant server to take your order, DineTouch could ease your angst.

The new software platform development by two UT Knoxville graduates allows diners to use an at-table touch screen to place their food orders and pay at the table. Joey Natour and Seth Elliott, both May 2011 grads, recently received seed funding to help build their business.

During a beta test at Knoxville’s Café 4, the manager said the system streamlined the ordering process and pleased customers. DineTouch is planning a mobile app so diners can use either the app on their personal touch-screen device or use a touch-screen device provided by the restaurant when ordering.

Natour and Elliott will receive a $10,000 grant from the Boyd Venture Fund as they achieve agreed milestones. The fund, administered by the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the College of Business Administration, is made possible by UT alumnus Randy Boyd, president and CEO of Radio Systems Corp.
