Trout Joust, anyone? It’s one of many memorable activities planned for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Homecoming 2012, Sept. 17-22. The Chattanooga Mocs kick off at 6 p.m. against the Appalachian State Mountaineers on Sept. 22 at Finley Stadium.

UTC and Volkswagen Chattanooga are working together to expand education opportunities, offering MBA classes onsite at Volkswagen Academy this fall. The part-time, evening MBA program designed especially for working professionals based in Hamilton and Bradley counties can be completed in two calendar years. Everyone on the UTC campus is buzzing about the book Outcasts United by Warren St. John. The true story of a soccer team of refugee teenage boys coached by a Jordanian-born woman in Clarkston, a small town outside Atlanta, Ga., was selected for the 2012 First Year Reading Experience.

Positive Reaction

What’s powered and stopped by a chemical reaction, the size of a shoebox and runs so well it earned the right to compete in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) national competition in October? The Chem-E car created by UTC engineering students placed third at the AIChE southern regional competition to qualify for nationals.
