It has a live webcam showing the work on the old University Center to build the new Student Union. The website also shows the status of a new residence hall going up between Hess Hall and Presidential Court.
Civil Rights Movement
To learn about the civil rights movement of the 1960s, students took to the road last summer to visit the scenes of important events of the era. History professor Cynthia Fleming took students on tours to Atlanta; Montgomery, Ala.; Selma, Ala.; and Birmingham, Ala. Fleming plans to retire soon after 30 years at UT Knoxville, and these students may have been the last to go on the road with her.

Zen at the Museum
The Frank H. McClung Museum is one of only 13 museums in the state accredited by the American Association of Museums, the highest national honor for a museum. The museum has been accredited since 1972 and received its fifth accreditation earlier this year. A new exhibit opening this fall is “Zen Buddhism and the Arts of Japan,” which runs from Sept. 15 to Dec. 31. For more information, visit http://mcclungmuseum.utk.edu/.
